The last time I went to a Harlem Globetrotters game was over 20 years ago when I was a senior in high school. My family was of modest means and we didn’t really have extra funds for recreational activities. I was beyond overjoyed when I heard the Globetrotters were coming to my school to play. I can still remember the excitement of watching the players perform amazing tricks and show off their talents on the basketball court.

We were entertained from the beginning of the show to the end. My kids were in awe watching these athletes seemingly fly in the air to complete mind blowing dunks and all the fancy ball tricks. The Harlem Globetrotters unique brand of comedic basketball kept us laughing the whole time. The atmosphere, the music, and the enthusiasm of the players instantly brought smiles and cheers from even my 15 year old son!
As someone committed to building children’s self-confidence, what really warmed my heart was how the Harlem Globetrotters included young audience members in the show. The team brought children on the court to perform different activities to help them see that they could do amazing things if they pushed their limits. The Globetrotters were very effective at reinforcing the message that kids can push past their limits and do things they didn’t think they could do in a very fun and engaging way.
